  • Clean AI host: The payload is checked for provenance, file count, and an unchanged source state.

Compatibility

  • Bundle ID: The historical macOS bundle ID com.privion.paste remains unchanged to protect existing system permissions.

Known limitations

  • System services: Global shortcuts remain dependent on operating-system input and accessibility services.

Update

Text expansion across keyboard layouts

  • QWERTY, QWERTZ, and AZERTY: Shortcuts are detected on macOS, Windows, and Linux using the active keyboard layout instead of assuming US QWERTY.
  • Layout changes and special keys: Paste discards stale input state after a layout change and handles Caps Lock, AltGr, dead keys, and keyboard shortcuts reliably.
  • Reliable capitalization: Shortcuts containing uppercase letters, umlauts, and digits are recognized correctly even when Shift is released early.

Setup & account

  • New guided onboarding: Paste explains its features, privacy model, and basic settings on first launch. The onboarding can be reopened at any time.
  • The account remains optional: Sign in, create an account, or continue without one are clearly separated. Core local features remain available without signing in.
  • Voluntary feedback: A dedicated action at the end of setup opens the feedback page, while feedback remains entirely optional.

Compatibility & reliability

  • Import aText backups: Groups, multiple shortcuts, variables, and formatted content can be imported from supported aText backups.
  • Open exchange formats: CSV and JSON remain importable, exportable, and suitable for exchanging data with other tools.
  • Hardened Windows Store package: Required native modules are packaged selectively and the Store payload is verified automatically before distribution.

  • Sessions end reliably: If a device is signed out or revoked in your account, Paste now detects this reliably and signs out locally.
  • Secured device approval: New devices are added to the account through an end-to-end encrypted approval mechanism.

  • Consistent active selection: Active buttons now show the same violet outline without a fill everywhere, consistent with Priviot Write and Priviot PDF.

Sync & first launch

  • True live sync: Changes to settings and encrypted snippets are delivered to signed-in devices within seconds through Supabase Realtime. The regular five-minute sync remains available as a fallback.
  • System language on first launch: Paste starts in English on English-language systems and in German otherwise. A later manual selection is preserved.
  • New Store version: The updated Windows build is released as version 1.2.0 so it can be distributed through Microsoft Store updates.

  • Live sync: Account changes and new snippets from other devices now arrive within seconds instead of waiting for the next window focus or up to 5 minutes of background polling.
  • System language on first launch: A genuine first launch now picks up the language from the operating system instead of always starting in German, matching Priviot PDF and Priviot Write.

Windows text expansion

  • Expansion fixed: A bug aborted every recognized replacement in the Store package; text expansion now works reliably on Windows.
  • Focus restoration: Quick search and fill-in fields remember the previously active window and refocus it before inserting text.

Usability & design

  • Settings design aligned with PDF and Write: The content area, navigation, and account card now follow the shared Priviot settings shell.
  • Clearer, fully translated editor actions: Image, attachments, delete, duplicate, and save now share consistent icons and short hover hints in German and English.

  • Formatted snippets: Text, lists, links, embedded images, and local file attachments can be reused together.
  • Folders and favorites: Nested folders and favorites keep larger collections organized.
  • Quick search: A configurable global hotkey opens search and can create content from the clipboard.

Triggers & insertion

  • Flexible trigger rules: Snippets can trigger immediately, after delimiters, or at word boundaries and optionally respect capitalization.
  • App filters: Allow and block lists restrict snippets to suitable applications.
  • Individual hotkeys: Important snippets can be inserted with their own global keyboard shortcuts.

Privacy & reliability

  • Encrypted sync: Optional snippet sync uses client-side AES-256-GCM encryption and a separate passphrase.
  • Local backups: Daily backup states and atomic storage protect the local collection.
  • Hardened app: Separate preloads, sandboxing, a strict CSP, and HTML sanitization reduce the attack surface.
