Redact PDF content

Priviot PDF permanently removes selected content from supported document structures. Complex pages are rasterized only after consent. If redaction cannot be performed reliably, the process is stopped and the original remains unchanged.

Sensitive line, marked for redaction

How secure redaction works

  1. 1

    Mark the area

Mark the text or area that should be redacted.

  2. 2

    Rasterize complex pages deliberately

If safe vector removal is not possible, the affected page is rasterized only after explicit consent.

  3. 3

    Check the result

Review the saved document before sharing it.

Benefits and limits

  • Sensitive content can be marked selectively instead of replacing the whole document.
  • Processing happens on your device by default.

Good to know

  • Review the redacted document carefully before sharing it, especially for complex PDF files.
  • Redaction does not cover metadata, embedded attachments, or an earlier file version stored outside the document.

Frequently asked questions about secure redaction

Quick answers to what gets asked most about redacting sensitive content.

Is the redacted content removed from the saved document?

Marked areas are saved with the redaction applied. Review the result before sharing it, especially for large or complex documents.

Can I redact multiple areas in one document?

Yes. You can mark and redact multiple text areas together.

Is the document uploaded to apply the redaction?

No. Priviot PDF processes the document locally on your device by default.

Priviot uses technically necessary cookies and similar storage technologies, for example to keep you signed in. More details in the privacy policy.
