Privacy-focused software for documents

Priviot builds specialized applications for documents, writing, and text snippets. Documents are processed locally by default, with no mandatory account for the core features.

Specialized applications, one shared ecosystem

What is processed locally by default

The following happens in Priviot PDF, Write, Paste, and Notes without a cloud connection, on your device:

  • Editing, merging, and redacting PDF documents in Priviot PDF.
  • Writing, formatting, and opening DOCX files in Priviot Write.
  • Integrated spelling through Priviot Proof; grammar and clarity are labelled as preview features.
  • Saving and inserting text snippets in Priviot Paste.

What an optional Priviot account can be used for

No account is required for the core features above. An optional Priviot account is used exclusively for additional features:

Future license and subscription management

The technical connection to a Priviot account is prepared for license and subscription management that may be offered in the future. No extended license is currently offered publicly.

Optional synchronization

Signed-in users can enable synchronization deliberately for each supported service and configure it in account settings. In that case, private Priviot PDF, Write, Paste, and Notes content and attachments are encrypted client-side before transfer. Operational metadata such as account, device, product area, revision, time, and size remains visible to the server.

Usable without an account

The local core features of Priviot PDF, Write, Paste, and Notes are usable locally without a mandatory account. An account is only needed for the optional additional features listed above.

Limits and exceptions

  • Priviot Write and Priviot Paste are available for macOS and Windows (Windows via the Microsoft Store); Linux is currently unavailable.
  • Optional sync in Priviot Paste requires a Priviot account. Future optional license management in Priviot PDF may also require an account.
  • Priviot Proof is currently built into Priviot Write and is not a separately installable program.

Legal basis

Frequently asked questions about privacy and local use

Quick answers to what gets asked most about using the Priviot Suite locally.

Does Priviot require an account or the cloud?

The local core features of Priviot PDF, Write, Paste, and Notes work without a mandatory account and without a cloud connection. An account is required for optional features such as sync. Future license or subscription features may also require an account.

Are my documents uploaded automatically?

No. Documents are processed locally on your device by default. There is no automatic transfer to external services.

What happens to my private content with optional sync?

Private content and attachments are encrypted client-side before transfer. Without sync enabled, they stay local on the device; operational sync metadata is not end-to-end encrypted.

Are Priviot PDF, Write, Paste, and Notes free to use?

The applications offer a free core feature set. Advanced features may optionally be offered as paid additions.

Priviot uses technically necessary cookies and similar storage technologies, for example to keep you signed in. More details in the privacy policy.
